Stop paying card fees out of your margin.
With cash discount, your posted price is the card price, and customers who pay cash get a discount. The processing cost is covered in the price instead of coming out of your pocket.
How it works, start to finish
Your shelf price is the card price
Posted prices include a small service fee for card payments. Signage at the door and register says cash customers get a discount. The signs are provided.
The customer display shows both prices
As items ring up, the customer sees the card price and the cash price, so nobody is surprised at the end.
The register handles the rest
Pay by card and the posted price applies. Pay cash and the discount comes off automatically. Your cashier doesn’t do anything differently.
The receipt shows it plainly
Each receipt shows the price paid and the discount or fee, as the rules require.
What you pay in card fees now
Move the sliders to match your store. Bring your latest statement to the demo for the exact figure.
Not sure of your rate? Divide last month’s total fees by your card sales. Most stores land between 2.5% and 3.5%.
With cash discount, the service fee in your posted card price covers most of that. Your $39 per station software fee and small monthly account fees still apply.
What owners ask about cash discount
Will my customers mind?
Liquor stores see a lot of cash, and regulars who pay cash get a better price than before. Card customers see the same kind of pricing they already see at gas stations and convenience stores.
Is it legal?
Offering a discount for paying cash is allowed in every state. It has to be set up correctly, with posted signage and clear pricing on the display and receipt. We set that up with you.
Is this the same as a surcharge?
No. A surcharge adds a fee on top of the posted price at checkout. Cash discount posts one price and gives cash customers a discount off it. The rules for the two are different, and cash discount is the one we set up.
Can I turn it off later?
Yes. Cash discount is a setting in the system, and you can run traditional pricing instead. Talk to us first, because it changes what you pay in processing.
Do I still pay anything?
Yes: the $39 per station monthly software fee and small monthly account fees. What goes away is the percentage of every card sale coming out of your margin.
Bring one statement. Leave with the real number.
